Hello All, my name is Rob and my wife Sonia Leighton, we created this blog so that anyone interested can follow our progress. The Megan D was built in Novia Scotia in 1978 by Rosborough yachts. The boat is featured in the book "Confessions of a Boat Builder" as Megan D Privateer. It spent most of its first years in Alaska with the Dorman family and lastly, Tacoma.

Plugging, Faring and refastening
Port side Faired!!
Looking Good!
Including the Transom :)
I was able to purchase teak from a nice retired couple in Olympia
Enough teak to complete out the interior
My Sister Vickie came by and picked up the old Iron.
I calculated the total weight was about 8000 lbs!
Chris the master woodworker :)
We really appreciate the help of Chris. He has worked very hard this week

Today we finished taking out all the old Iron ballast in the bilge by taking 2 planks out. Then cleaned out the bilge and now replacing the planks
Chris and I had a workout getting all the old rusty iron out of the bilge
Had to take out 2 planks to get the larger iron rounds out.
Even Dino and Neo came to help :)
New plank to put back where we took the iron ballast out.
